Barcode label printing built into your POS
RetailPOS Studio prints barcode and price labels straight from your product list, so every item that arrives can be scanned at the counter the same day. Pick products or a received purchase, choose how many labels, choose what each label shows — name, price, barcode, variation, business name — and print on sticker sheets or a thermal label printer. No separate label software and no retyping prices.

How do I print barcode labels for products without a barcode?
In short
Give the product a SKU, let RetailPOS Studio use it as the barcode in Code 128 or EAN-13, then open Print Labels, pick the product and quantity, and print. The label carries the barcode, name and price you choose, and scans at your register straight away.

Step 1 of 4 · ~5 min
Receive the purchase
Record the delivery as a purchase so the quantities are already known. On Counter, add opening stock instead.
Step 2 of 4 · ~2 min
Open Print Labels
Pick products one by one, or load every line of the purchase at once with its received quantity.
Step 3 of 4 · ~2 min
Choose the layout
Select the sticker layout for your paper or printer and tick what each label shows: name, variation, price, business name.
Step 4 of 4 · ~10 min
Print and stick
Print a test row first, then the batch. Labels go on items or shelf edges and scan at the register immediately.
How it works
How does label printing work day to day?
- 01
Labels come from the product record
The barcode, name, variation and price on a label are pulled from the product itself. Change a price and the next label you print shows the new one, so you never have to retype it in a separate label tool and risk the shelf saying something different from the register.
- 02
Use the maker's barcode or your own
If an item already carries a UPC or EAN-13 from the manufacturer, scan it into the product and you may not need a label at all. Items without one, such as handmade gifts or loose accessories, get a code generated from their SKU, and you print a label for them.
- 03
Sticker layouts for your paper
Barcode settings let you define the sticker size, rows, columns and margins for your sheet or roll. Set it once per label stock and pick it from a list each time. Shops usually keep one layout for small item labels and one for shelf edges.
- 04
Print what you just received
On the Stockroom plan you can print labels for every line of a received purchase in one go, with quantities filled in. A carton of 48 phone cases becomes 48 labels without counting twice.
What goes wrong with labels
Shelf price and register price disagree
Handwritten stickers go out of date the day you change a price. Printing from the product record keeps the shelf and the register on the same number.
Labels that won't scan
Barcodes printed too small or on glossy paper fail at the counter. Use the size your printer is set for and test one row before a batch.
Reused manufacturer codes
Two products sharing one barcode means the register picks the wrong one. Each barcode must belong to exactly one product or variation.
Inventing EAN numbers for wholesale
Internal codes are fine in your own shop, but if you sell to other retailers they may require registered GS1 barcodes.

Labels in your kind of shop
General retail
Loose and unbranded stock
Variety stores receive plenty of items with no barcode at all: hooks of keyrings, bulk stationery, imported household goods. Generating codes from the SKU and printing small labels means the cashier scans instead of searching by name, which is what keeps a queue moving on a Saturday.
Gift shops
Labels that don't spoil the gift
Gift shops care how the item looks. Small labels showing only barcode and price go on the base or the tag, and shelf-edge labels carry the full description so customers can read it without a sticker on the front.
Phone shops
Accessories wall and handset boxes
Phone shops label hundreds of cases, cables and screen protectors by model and color. Variation names print on the label, so the cashier can see it's the iPhone case and not the Galaxy one before scanning, and handset boxes get a larger label next to the IMEI sticker.
