Retail inventory management software that knows where every item is
RetailPOS Studio is retail inventory management software built into the point of sale, so stock moves the moment something is sold, received, returned, transferred or counted. Every product can carry variants, units, a SKU, a barcode and a shelf position. You see what you have, where it sits and what it cost, for one shop or several, without a second system or an end-of-day spreadsheet.

What does inventory management in a POS actually do?
In short
It keeps a live count of every item, variant and location, changed automatically by sales, purchases, returns, transfers and stock adjustments. You can see current stock, stock value at cost, what is running low and where an item sits on the shelf, without counting by hand or keeping a separate spreadsheet.
How it works
How does RetailPOS Studio keep stock accurate?
- 01
Every movement is a record
A sale lowers stock, a received purchase raises it, a sell return puts it back and a purchase return takes it out. Transfers move it between locations, and stock adjustments record damage, theft or a found box with a reason. Because every change has a document behind it, you can open any item and see exactly why the number is what it is.
- 02
Variants and units, not duplicate products
A phone case in six colors, a mug in two sizes or a charger in three plug types is one product with variations, each with its own SKU, barcode, price and stock. Units and sub-units let you buy by the carton and sell by the piece, so a box of 24 received becomes 24 sellable items without manual math.
- 03
Shelf positions you can find
Racks, rows and positions can be set per product and per location. When a customer asks for the blue cable and the shelf is empty, staff can see whether the stockroom has it and exactly where, instead of walking every aisle or telling the customer you're out when you're not.
- 04
Alerts before the shelf is empty
Set an alert quantity on any product. When stock drops to that level it appears on the low-stock list and the dashboard, so you reorder on time. Shops on the Stockroom plan can turn that list straight into a purchase order for the right supplier.

Which stock movements change your numbers?
| Movement | What it does to stock | Where you record it |
|---|---|---|
| Sale | Lowers stock at the selling location | Checkout at the register |
| Sell return | Puts the item back in stock | Return against the original sale |
| Purchase received | Raises stock at the receiving location | Purchases (Stockroom plan) |
| Purchase return | Takes stock out and credits the supplier | Purchase return (Stockroom plan) |
| Stock transfer | Moves stock from one location to another | Stock transfers (Chain plan) |
| Stock adjustment | Corrects stock for damage, loss or a count | Stock adjustment with a reason |
| Opening stock | Sets the starting quantity and cost | Product form or CSV import |
Every stock change is tied to a document you can open later.

Getting your stock into the system
75 minutes, start to selling
Step 1 of 5 · ~15 min
Export or list your products
Pull a CSV from your old POS or fill in the import template: name, SKU, barcode, category, cost, selling price, tax and opening stock.
Step 2 of 5 · ~5 min
Import the CSV
Upload the file, check the preview and import. Products, variations and opening stock arrive together, and any rows with errors are listed so you can fix them.
Step 3 of 5 · ~10 min
Set alert quantities
Give fast sellers an alert level so they appear on the low-stock list before they run out. You can bulk-edit by category.
Step 4 of 5 · ~15 min
Add shelf positions
Optional: add rack, row and position to the items staff struggle to find. Start with the stockroom and high-value items.
Step 5 of 5 · ~30 min
Do a first count
Count one category, record the difference as a stock adjustment, and repeat category by category over the first weeks instead of closing the shop for a full count.

What it looks like in your kind of shop
General retail
Thousands of small lines
A variety store carries batteries, kitchenware, stationery and seasonal goods, most of them cheap and easy to lose track of. Categories, brands and alert quantities keep the long tail visible, and the stock report shows which lines are tying up money because they haven't sold in months.
Gift shops
Seasonal stock that has to sell through
Gift shops buy heavily before holidays and need to know what is left afterward. Stock value by category tells you how much money is still on the shelf, and trending products show which items to reorder for the next season instead of guessing.
Phone shops
Accessories and handsets in one place
Phone shops sell cheap cases and expensive handsets from the same counter. Variants handle colors and models for accessories, while handsets can be tracked by IMEI on the Stockroom plan, so a count shows both the case wall and the locked cabinet accurately.
What goes wrong without it
Phantom stock
The system says three are on the shelf, the shelf is empty, and the customer leaves. Without recorded adjustments, theft, breakage and miscounts pile up until nobody trusts the numbers.
Money stuck in dead stock
Without a stock report by last sale date, slow items stay on the shelf for years while cash is short for the items that actually sell.
Duplicate products
Creating a new product for every color or size makes reports useless and counts slow. Variations keep one product with clean totals.
Ordering by memory
When reorders depend on someone noticing an empty hook, popular items run out on the busiest days.
Works with
Features this one leans on
Barcode labels
Print barcode and price labels from your catalogue on sheets or a label printer, in the sizes your shelves use.
Purchase orders
Raise purchase orders from low-stock lists, receive deliveries against them, and handle short or damaged shipments.
Multi-store
Run several shops from one back office: stock per location, transfers between stores, per-store prices and roles.
