Switch POS systems over one weekend.

Switching POS systems to RetailPOS Studio means moving three files: products, customers and stock. Export them from your old system as CSV, and we map and import them for you — migration help costs free.

Migration

Four steps to switch.

50 minutes, start to selling

Step 1 of 4 · ~15 min

Export from your old POS

Download products, customers and stock levels as CSV or Excel. Every major POS has an export; we can tell you where it is in yours.

You need: admin login to the old system

Column mapping

Their columns, our columns.

Names differ between systems; the data doesn't. This is how the usual export columns map.

Spec sheet · FAQ

Switching questions, answered.

01How much does it cost to switch from my current POS?Cost & billing
Switching costs nothing. Our team helps you move products, customers, suppliers and stock levels from your current system using its export files, checks the import with you and fixes problems before you go live.
02What data can I bring over?Day to day
Products with variants, barcodes, costs and prices; opening stock per location; customers with contact details and reward-point balances; and suppliers with their balances. Past sales history usually stays in your old system for reference, because transaction formats differ too much to import cleanly.
03What file format do you need?Day to day
CSV or Excel exports. Almost every POS can export products and customers to a spreadsheet. Send us what you have and we map the columns to our import template.
04Can I keep my existing barcodes?Day to day
Yes. Your existing barcodes import with your products, so labels already on the shelf keep scanning. You only print new labels for items that never had one.
05How long does a switch take?Setting up
A single shop with a clean export usually switches in a day or two. Messier catalogues or multiple shops take a little longer. We plan the switch around a quiet trading day.
06Do I have to cancel my old POS first?Cost & billing
No. Keep your old system running until you're happy, and run both for a day if you want. Cancel the old one once your stock counts and first days of sales look right.
07What about serial numbers and warranties already sold?Day to day
Serial numbers for stock on hand can be imported so they're ready to sell. For devices already sold under warranty, we can import a list of serials with sale dates and customers so warranty lookups keep working.
08Will my staff need retraining?Day to day
A little. The selling screen is a familiar scan-and-pay layout, so cashiers pick it up in a shift. We run a short training call for owners on purchasing, labels and reports.

Bring your export. We'll do the rest.
