Setting up a POS system with RetailPOS Studio takes four steps and no installer: sign up, add your shop, add your products, and sell. Your online store builds itself along the way. Here is each step, how long it takes and what to have ready.

How do I set up my shop and staff?
Each shop is a location with its own registers, invoice layout and stock. Staff get roles — cashier, manager, stock clerk — and only see what their role allows.

01What are the steps to get started?Setting up
There are four: sign up and create your business, add your shop with its registers and staff, add or import your products, and your online store goes live from that catalogue. Most shops do the first three in under an hour and start selling the same day.
02What do I need ready before I sign up?Day to day
Have your business name, address, tax registration details if you have them, and a product list, ideally a spreadsheet with name, barcode, cost, price and stock. A logo and product photos help but can come later. If you're switching from another POS, export your products and customers first.
03Do I need to install anything?Setting up
No. RetailPOS Studio is hosted by us, so you open it in a browser on a tablet, laptop or desktop. You only install drivers for hardware like receipt or label printers if your device needs them.
04How do I import my products?Setting up
Download the import template, paste in your product list and upload it. The system checks each row and tells you about missing prices, duplicate barcodes or unknown categories before anything is saved. Opening stock can be imported the same way.
05Can I set up more than one shop at the start?Setting up
Yes. Add each location with its own address, registers, invoice layout and staff. On Chain, products can share one catalogue with per-store prices and stock, and you can transfer stock between shops from day one.
06When does the online store appear?Day to day
As soon as products exist. Your store is generated from the catalogue in about a minute, and you choose which products show online. You can refine store details such as your logo and contact information whenever you like.
07Is help available during setup?Setting up
Yes. Our team can join a video or WhatsApp call to walk through setup, check your import file and help configure printers. Switching from another POS includes migration help at no cost.
08How long before I'm comfortable using it?Setting up
Cashiers usually learn the selling screen in one shift because it's a scan-and-pay layout. Owners take a few days to get used to purchase orders, ledgers and reports. The help center has short guides for each task.
