How do I create my RetailPOS Studio account?

Sign up for RetailPOS Studio, name your business, pick your currency and time zone, and land on a working dashboard in about two minutes.

Creating an account takes about two minutes. There is nothing to install: RetailPOS Studio runs in your browser on a computer, tablet or phone, and your free trial lasts 21 days.

Before you start

  • Your business name as you want it printed on receipts.
  • The country you trade in (USA, UAE or Pakistan) and your currency.
  • Your time zone, so daily reports close at the right hour.
  • A mobile number you can receive WhatsApp or SMS messages on.
  • Your financial year start month, if you know it. You can change it later.

Step by step

  1. Use Start free trial on this site. You land on the business registration form.
  2. Enter your business name, then upload a logo if you have one. A square image of at least 300 pixels works best on receipts.
  3. Choose your currency. USA shops pick USD, UAE shops AED and Pakistan shops PKR. The currency sets how prices and totals are displayed everywhere.
  4. Choose your time zone and financial year start.
  5. Add your business address. It appears on invoices, so write it the way your customers know it.
  6. Create the owner login: a username and a strong password. This is the account with full permissions, so keep it for yourself and invite staff separately.
  7. Press Register. You arrive on the dashboard with an empty catalogue and one default location.

What to do next

Most shops do these three things in order:

  1. Rename the default location to your shop’s real name and add registers (add your first location).
  2. Set up the tax rates you charge (set up tax rates).
  3. Import your products (import products from a CSV).

Once products exist, your online store is generated from them automatically.

Common problems

  • I chose the wrong currency. Go to Settings → Business settings and change it before you record sales. Changing currency after you have sales history makes old reports confusing.
  • The date format looks wrong. Pick your date format in Settings → Business settings. US shops usually use MM/DD/YYYY; UAE and Pakistan shops usually use DD/MM/YYYY.
  • I didn’t get a verification message. Check the number you entered and wait two minutes. If it still hasn’t arrived, contact support through the Contact page.

Tips

  • Use the owner login only for setup and settings. Day-to-day selling should happen under staff logins so every sale is traceable to a person.
  • If you trade in two countries, open a separate business for each so currency and tax stay clean.
